Time To Prepare for 2012!!!

The Volleyball Program will be meeting for strength and conditioning sessions every Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 3:45-5:15pm. This is open to all returning and aspiring volleyball players that attend Washington-Lee. 7th and 8th graders that would be eligible to play for Washington-Lee in the fall can also attend. All participants must be cleared by the Athletic Trainer before participation.

Spring Practices are coming!!

The Volleyball Program will be meeting for skill development sessions in April and May. The times are from 3:45-5:15pm. Dates are below:

If the weather forces spring sports indoors, we will be cancelled but will do strength/conditioning instead.

Heather Banikas named captain for 2012

Junior Libero Heather Banikas has been selected by her coaches and teammates as a captain for 2012. Heather has been on the varsity volleyball team for one year and with the program for 3 years.

Audrey Batcheller named captain for 2012

Sophomore Middle Hitter Audrey Batcheller has been selected by her coaches and teammates as a captain for 2012. Audrey has been on the varsity volleyball team for one year and with the program for 2 years. She was an honorable mention for the National District in 2011.

Erin Fox selected as a 1st Team All-District Player for 2011

Congratulations to Senior Setter Erin Fox for being selected as a 1st Team All-District Player for 2011. Erin also recieved 8 votes from regional coaches, but narrowly missed being recognized as a honorable mention for the Northern Region. Erin has been a varsity volleyball player for 3 years.

Audrey Batcheller and Jill Luoma-Overstreet receive National District Honorable Mention

Congratulations to Senior Jill Luoma-Overstreet and Sophomore Audrey Batcheller. Both recieved an Honorable Mention from National District Coaches for the 2011 season. Luoma-Overstreet has played club volleyball for AVC and Evolutioin. Batcheller is in her first season on varsity and has beginning her second season playing for AVC.

Freshman Samantha Harris named to 2011 National District All-Tournament Team

Congratulations to Freshman Outside Hitter Samantha Harris, who was named to the 2011 National District All-Tournament Team. Harris was dominant against Hayfield and Stuart as the Generals competed in the playoffs in early November. Harris is also a member of Virginia Elites 15s team.
